Horizontal images can’t be seen completely… I forgot that wordpress doesn’t auto-resize…  one of the things I liked from uber

Since uber might be stopping I’m going to blog here again, I’ll try to keep this a bit more updated that I have done so far…

To start with I’ll just copy my latest blog from uber:

Haven’t updated the blog for too long, so here are a couple of the shots I’ve taken lately. Started to use Lightroom for the RAW processing in stead of Canon’s Digital Photo Professional. Must say I quite like it so far, I tried using Apperture for a bit, but Lightroom looks much easier so far, besides doing some useful things such as noise reducion & sharpening by default when importing files.

Back to the photo’s: starting with, from what I have processed so far, my favorite shot from the wedding I was assisting as 2nd / 3rd  shooter / holding flash.

I’ve been reading quite some blogs via RSS lately, mostly street and wedding photographer’s blogs, shots such as the two above have been inspired by photo’s I’ve seen in said blogs. I would link them here now if I could remember what shot I saw were…

All this has been shot by the way on a Canon 5D with various lenses, no L stuff.
Having that said, what do you think about the colors & sharpness of the following shot!? I imported the RAW file to Lightroom and besides White balance, resizing and USM after the resize there have been no edits at all:

Here’s another street one, I was practicing hip-shots one afternoon when, while walking back to the bus I got this one, the only one with the people I wanted in the frame (or at least more than only their feet)

Actually, I’m not sure if Severin had a photo of a person in front of a big ad or not, but I’ll link it anyways, very worth reading if you haven’t heard of it yet.

Walked around in Málaga today a bit, practicing and getting to know the 5D.

Here are some of the results:

Some more neg scans, shot with either a Nikon F-501 (MF) + 50mm 1.8 E-series or on a Canon AE-1 + 50mm F1.4. Film used: Ilford HP5 @800, Delta 400 @1600 and Delta 400.

I edited one of the shots on photoshop, lets see if you can notice which one.

I haven’t shot any film since these scans, so the next entry will most-likely be with shots from my “new” (2nd hand) 5D. I’m back to studying algebra now, 4 days left and I’m done with my june exams.

I finally got the negatives scanned. Here are some old ones from end of February, taken in Barcelona:

Some other shots from April now, first  one is from an Easter procession. Rest is random people seen in Málaga. Except the last one

These were shot on my first “test-roll” of T-Max, can’t remember what I shot this on,  I’m guessing 400 or 800.

Some more T-Max, different roll, same month, couple of days later, during the Film Festival.

Small “protest” I walked passed on my way back to the bus, had 3 or 4 frames left in the camera, so I shot finished it there.

Since the scanner is still broken at the store where I want to bring my negatives to, I’ll post some dog (& cat) photo’s.

After developing myself for a bit I realized what a bad job they did at the lab on my negative & prints…

As soon as I get to developing some more prints myself or if I can scan my negs directly and digitally “fix”  tones and such I will update with more photo’s from Barcelona, if not, next post will most-likely be with digital photo’s from the film festival in Málaga, perhaps followed by a post of my first photo’s of a wedding.

But I’ll probably use my digital stuff quite more than the film camera’s because I don’t develop myself… so its a bit expensive
